AfroQuiesa Orchestra was formed in late summer 2015 from the idea of Tommaso Marraccini and Emanuele Volpi, the drummer and guitarist of the group. They aimed to create modern and danceable atmospheres blending funk, jazz, and afrobeat. In September 2018, they presented their debut album at GOB – Ganz of Bicchio in Viareggio. In addition to drums and guitar, the lineup includes Alessandro Andreoni on bass, Andrea Baroni on keyboards, Andrea Battistoni on trumpet, Ilaria Sebastiani on flute, Gabriel Petretti on tenor saxophone, Alessandro Giannotti on trombone, and Paolo Quattriglia on percussion.
