Daykoda is the stage name chosen by the producer Andrea Gamba. His musical background is rooted in a traditional education, having studied for several years at the Milan Conservatory and delving into his parents’ record collection from a young age.
However, he has never truly integrated into the mainstream scene due to his eccentric approach to music production, focusing on experimentation with electronic production and its blend with abstract hip-hop and jazz. Over the years, Andrea has developed a refined taste for the refreshing sound of innovative labels like Brainfeeder and Ninja Tune, which have become a focal point of his work and have pushed him to improve his production skills and master his style.
Daykoda has received support from national and international media outlets such as Tom Ravenscroft (BBC Radio 6), Skinny Pelembe (Bronswood), Travis Holcombe (KCRW), Raffaele Costantino (Rai Radio 2), Nubya Garcia, Lefto, Laurent Garnier, and many others, including the Italian webzine Soundwall, which has referred to him as the “Italian Flying Lotus.”
