Super Bad is a funk music project founded in Florence in 2018 by saxophonist Marco Caponi, who has previously worked with bands such as Dirotta su Cuba, Drusilla Foer, Alessandro Cattelan & Street Clerks, Funkoff, Paolo Ruffini, and Lorenzo Baglioni. The band draws inspiration from the genre’s founding fathers while also looking to the future with their unique crossover of funk, rock, jazz, and electronic music.

Super Bad has performed extensively and participated in jazz festivals and events, including the Grey Cat Jazz Festival, Andora Jazz, Giotto Jazz, and JAZZMI. Their debut album, released by Irma Records, was recorded at Gianni Bini’s House Of Glass, edited at Luca Leprotti’s LEP Studio in Cento, mixed and mastered at Stefano Bechini’s Green Brain Studio. Guest musicians were recorded at Emanuele Braca’s GRS Studio. The band is responsible for composing, arranging, and producing their music.

Notable guests who have collaborated with Super Bad include Dario Cecchini (Funkoff) on baritone saxophone and flute, Riccardo Onori (Jovanotti) on guitar, Franco Santarnecchi (Jovanotti) on keyboards, and Fabrizio Ganugi on saxophone.
